Design-Build
The Physical Plant Administration Building was conceived to serve as the hub of a “mini-campus” of buildings relating to facilities management. Although funding was limited, the Agency’s goal was to provide a showcase facility for prospective architect, engineers, and contractors visiting the campus for the first time.
Committed to sustainable design and cutting edge technologies, the agency wanted the new facility to address both objectives. The building is designed as two juxtaposed wedges that meet at a central gutter running the length of the building. The gutter is designed to discharges collected rainwater into cisterns (future) at each end of the building. The collected rainwater will be used for site irrigation.
