About This Project

Cogdell & Mendrala Architects and exhibit designer, Skolnick Architecture, collaborated on a 38,000 sf children’s museum, which is operated and staffed by the Coastal Heritage Society. The museum is located on the grounds of CHS at the historic rail coach and paint workshops. The museum includes a mixture of educational, experiential and community-based initiatives, geared towards children between the ages of 2-10, incorporating places for children to climb, crawl, and explore, through the indoor and outdoor interactive exhibits.

Exploration Station, Phase I of this endeavor, opened early in 2012 as an outdoor play area.
